The traditional view of the lawyer’s role in commercial disputes is seen as advising and acting for clients on litigation – how to go to court to seek redress (or defend a claim from the opposing party).
The ‘threat’ of litigation (and the skills necessary to go through with it) remains an important factor when choosing a lawyer to advise or represent you, whether you are a prospective plaintiff or a defendant.
However we take a broader view of dispute resolution. We believe that the ‘lottery’ of litigation and its unforeseeable total financial and opportunity costs should make it the last option to be considered in the process of resolution of the dispute. We therefore prefer to describe ourselves as ‘dispute resolution specialist rather than simply as litigators.
Make no mistake though – if litigation becomes the only option we will fight your corner to the utmost.
