Despite promises from every new government to cut red tape there always seems to be a more or less constant stream of new statutes, regulations and legal cases affecting businesses!
For small or medium sized businesses which falls foul of the law it is at best is annoying or distracting and at worst potentially disastrous. Usually the business fails to comply with the law without even knowing that law exists!
The Business Club, taking a lead from our two existing clubs (Employment and Property) has been established to keep businesses up to date with the ever-changing legal environment in which they operate, – so that local business owners and entrepreneurs are kept aware of the vital facts easily, efficiently, and with the minimum cost in time and money.
Objectives of the ClubAt the Business Club, we aim to provide regular updates on the law relating to businesses, which includes corporate or company law, commercial areas such as contract law, intellectual property, IT and e-commerce and other areas affecting business life..
MembershipMembership is open to any local business regardless of size. Membership is corporate, meaning two people from each organisation can attend each meeting and different or alternate personnel from members may attend meetings as appropriate or convenient..
MeetingsThe Club meets quarterly on a business day morning, meeting at 8.15 for an 8.30 start. Each meeting follows an agenda (published in advance) with time allowed for questions and discussion. Meetings are held at the High Wycombe Cricket Club, just off London Road in High Wycombe..
FeesA fee of £100 plus VAT p.a. is levied on each member firm to cover our costs of providing the venue, refreshments and administration.
We are more than happy for prospective members to attend their first meeting free of charge or obligation, provided we are given notice.
The club is run by partner and company law specialist Carl Selby, aided variously by other colleagues as appropriate.
Please call Carl on 01494 525941 or email him at firstname.lastname@example.org for further information.
